Production / Recording / Mixing / Mastering
Work with Pete.
Production and recording at WFS or another studio. Remote mixing and mastering wherever you are. Work with Pete from the beginning, or bring him in where you need him.

01 / Make a record
Recording
& production
Start with the songs, the performances and what the project needs. The work can include pre-production, planning, recording, editing, mixing and mastering.
Recording can take place at World Famous Studios or, when appropriate, another facility. Scope, timing and the working setup are discussed around the actual project.
02 / Work from anywhere
Remote mixing
Pete mixes through the AMEK 9098i console with analog outboard and effects.
Work with Pete on a mix, wherever the recordings were made. We’ll discuss the songs, references and what you want from the mix, then agree on the file preparation and review process. You can work with Pete from outside Colorado or outside the US.
To start, send the number and lengths of the songs, a rough mix or private listening link, the state of the recordings and your preferred timing. We’ll agree on multitrack or stem preparation before you send session files.

Already have a room in mind? Tell us about the studio, musicians, dates and the role you need filled. The recording location, travel and scope are planned around the project.
His work across facilities includes Train Holler, recorded and mixed at The Magic Barn, and Necroverse, recorded at Sonic Ranch and mixed and mastered at WFS.
04 / Prepare the release
Mastering
Mastering for projects mixed at WFS and mixes made elsewhere. Pete works through an analog mastering chain, with tape used when appropriate.
Send a listening link, song count and lengths, intended release formats and timing. Include the album sequence if it’s settled. We’ll discuss the mixes, tonal and level consistency, and the agreed delivery requirements before work begins.
The process
Getting started.
You don’t need every production decision settled before getting in touch. Share what you’re making, where it stands, your intended timing and what you want help with.
We’ll work out the recording setup and who needs to be involved.
Before we start
A few practical questions.
Can we work remotely?
Yes. Mixing and mastering are available for recordings made elsewhere. Tell us what you have and what you need help finishing.
Can you mix recordings we made at home?
Yes. Share some information about the recordings and what you want to achieve. The approach depends on the source material and the project.
Do we have to book every service?
No. Pete can work across the whole record or join for a particular stage, including recording, mixing or mastering. We’ll discuss the scope for your project.
Does everything have to be recorded at WFS?
No. Another tracking room may suit a particular ensemble or recording requirement. Locations and responsibilities are planned around the project.
Do you only work with analog tape?
No. Tracking can begin on tape or in Pro Tools. Mixing and mastering use analog processing alongside digital tools where useful.
